In a recent interview with “Heeb Magazine,” Harold Ramis spilled the beans about Ghostbusters 3. He hints that the film will be going into production this year and receive a 2011 release. Sadly, not all the news is great, as he also hinted at the fact that there will be an entirely new crew of Ghostbusters, while the original members will appear as supporting characters.
In short, this is just a way for them to reboot the franchise, while giving a brief acknowledgment to the series’ longtime fans and supporters. It’s just an excuse to rope in the kiddies and create another sequel spewing franchise that is as heartless and cold as the Rush Hour series of flicks. Lame.
Vocab’s Take: The fucked up thiong is that the people making Ghostbusters 3 can do anything that they want, because the fans of Ghostbusters are so into the films. Of course, they know this, and this is why they are attempting to make as much scratch as they can. Slick Hollywood fanboy gouging at its worst.
