Peter Berg’s Battleship Release Date – Latest Movie News ad Rumors

You sank my hopes for a good movie!

Alright, what the fuck is going on? First every movie under the sun gets remade, and now they’re turning board games into movies? What’s next? Magic 8-Ball. How about a movie about an overweight dude who needs surgery and whose nose buzzes and glows red every time his surgeon makes a mistake. We could call it Operation. Or maybe we could get a movie about a herd of rabid hippos… called Hungry Hungry Hippos.

As absurd as those ideas are, Peter Berg’s Battleship is actually a movie based on a board game. I’m not joking. The film is being dubbed a naval epic a about a battle against superior forces on land, sea, and air. It is now slated for a Memorial Day 2012 release date. No word yet on what property Hasbro is going to whore out next.

Vocab’s Take: I like Peter Berg. He makes good shit. I still feel like this will be Pearl Harbor redux… which is a bad thing. As long as Channing Tatum isn’t in it, I’ll be happy. Well… maybe not happy.
