Twentieth Century Fox has a hard-on for the Planet of the Apes franchise. Their latest efforts have been met with tacit denial from directors like Kathryn Bigelow and Robert Rodriguez. Why? Because they’re fucking smart.

Now Fox is intent on offering the film to directors like Pierre Morel (Taken), The Hughes Brothers (The Book of Eli), and James McTeigue (Ninja Assassin). Of course, if any of these people were smart, they’d turn it down too.

Vocab’s Take: The only big-name director who likes doing remakes is Tim Burton… and he already fucked up a Planet of the Apes remake. They might as well let him do it again… or find a new director who wants to prove him or herself. Honestly though… no Charlton Heston… no success.
