I don’t know what it is about The Last Starfighter, but I can’t enough of that damn movie. The thing is simply amazing… cheesy, but amazing. Few films feel as ridiculous and as good to watch as The Last Starfighter.

For those that don’t know, The Last Starfighter is the tale of a young boy named Alex. A videogaming boy, seemingly doomed to stay at his trailer park home all his life, finds himself recruited as a gunner for an alien defense force. In short… it’s fucking great.

Now this movie is finally receiving the attention it deserves with the release of a 25th Anniversary edition on DVD and Blu-Ray. They will both be released on August 18, 2009.

Honestly… the more I look at it the less special it seems… but it’s better than the edition that’s already out there, so I’m gonna buy it.
